A Little Tootin’ Going On!

Happy Wednesday after the 4th of July! I hope you all enjoyed safe and fun Independence Day celebrations.

I have a couple of things to share this week. First up, if you missed my interview over at Bookish Devices (a meeting place for all book nerds), please check it out! Here’s the link:   https://bookishdevices.com/2016/07/01/ten-questions-lisa-ricard-claro/     I was asked a bunch of fun questions and answered as honestly as possible. All I’m going to say is that Batman may have been involved. 🙂

Next up is my book for 6th grade kids, “Cool Board Sports.” This is my third children’s book for the Korean publisher, Darakwon. I just completed a fourth and have been contracted for a fifth. These folks are keeping this writer busy and out of trouble. I love that my stories are helping Korean children learn to speak, read, and write English.

My galley for the third book in the Fireflies series, “Love to Win,” arrived this week, so you know what I’ll be working on next! Release day is three weeks and three days from today. If you read the first two books and intend to read the third, you may be happy to know that book three begins on the day of Maddie and Caleb’s gazebo wedding.  This is Brenna and Dante’s story, but the whole Bright Hills gang is in attendance. The cover is a true work of art. I know you’ve seen it here before, but I have to share it again. Melissa at The Illustrated Author continues to outdo herself.

I will head off to read that interview in a moment. After reading your title, I wondered if you’d overdone it on the baked beans… Glad that was NOT the case.

Only 24 more days left. Wheee!

Well…the baked beans may have contributed just a little. *blushing* I know! Only 3 weeks and 3 days. I LOVE this book. I shouldn’t say it, but I think this one is my favorite. I think it’s because I lived with Brenna and Dante through three books. I know these characters so well, knew their backstories down to the miniscule details, and their story was screaming at me while I wrote the other two books. Time will tell, I guess. Nail biting. I wonder if this ever gets easier, or if I’ll always need to hit the chardonnay before reviews. lol

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I so appreciate the support! The writing is easy compared to the promoting. And I sincerely appreciate that you feel comfortable doing that for me. Thank you!

Thanks, Pat. Exciting yes. And stressful. lol I just received the galley for Love to Win, and I’m working on the handouts for the workshop I’m doing this fall at the GRW conference. Other stuff going on, too, and there is just not enough time. I’m always working so hard not to let anyone down!

I can’t wait to read Love to Win!

I loved your interview and found we have something in common (other than reading) – PIZZA! I’m not sure I could survive without pizza; it’s one of the major food groups, right? 🙂 Unfortunately, we have yet to find any pizza near where we live now that can compare to the style of pizza we had back in Ohio. When I go visit my sister next week, pizza is at the top of my list for food. I have at least 3 different pizza places I must hit while I’m back home. lol

I am certain that Love to Win will be a 5-star read just like the first two books. <3

We discovered Jet’s Pizza here. So good. Our all-time favorite is Gino’s East in Chicago. And now you and I know that the next time we get together during one of my Florida visits we should meet for pizza instead of coffee! 🙂

Thanks for the vote of confidence on book 3. I hope you’re right!

I’ve been out of the blog-loop for a few weeks, so it’s nice to catch up on everything that’s going on for you. I love the covers of both books, and I’m so happy for you for your publications. You’ve worked so hard and deserve every success. Looking forward to adding Love to Win to my Lisa Ricard Claro book collection!

Thanks, Deb. And you were kind of busy with a family reunion, right? That means you completely get a pass on all blog stuff. 🙂

Congrats on the children’s books! You sound like you’re staying out of trouble. Mostly, anyway. 🙂 Will check out the interview shortly. Have a great weekend!
