Chicken Soup: My Dog’s Life!

The latest Chicken Soup for the Soul book, My Dog’s Life, is due in bookstores April 12th.  I’m proud to be a contributing author. “Destiny” is the true story of how fate took our hands the day my daughter Stephanie found the first miniature Dachshund love-of-her-life, Special Agent McGee. Here’s the little guy then:

If you’re a regular reader, then you know she has since rescued the second miniature Dachshund love-of-her life, Federal Agent Chutsky. Here’s a pic of her “boys” together.  Take a look at McGee’s nose.  He’s all grown up!

One of my blog pals, Tammy, also has a story, “The Last Gift,” in this edition of Chicken Soup, so I count myself in excellent company. Her story is a knock-out. Beautiful and spiritual, sad and joyful, it will touch your heart.

Chicken Soup for the Soul publishes varied themes.  If you’re interested in submitting for a future anthology, click on the Paying Markets tab above under the blog header for the link to their site, as well as a listing of other paying markets.

Enjoy your Monday!

Til next time –

This looks like a book my daughter would absolutely love! She spoils our golden retriever so much.

Congratulations, Lisa. The pics are darling. I have a friend who has two Dachshunds, and they are incredible to watch, as they fly across her yard, like short-legged gazelles.I guess I have TWO reasons to buy the anthology–your story and Tammy's!

Claudia – These little guys are spoiled rotten. LOL Perhaps you should adopt a pooch? Perhaps he'll be your new muse!Jennifer – Thanks for stopping by. We have two Labs (mixes) now, but used to have a Golden Retriever. Golden's are wonderful dogs! Perfect family pets.Kathy – Thanks! :)Sioux – McGee runs like the wind. He's amazing. Poor little Chutsky has three deformed paws, one being a bit of a stump, requiring him to run on three legs. He isn't anywhere near as fast as McGee, but he doesn't know he's disabled. He just trots right along, tail always wagging. They're sweet dogs!

Lisa,Congratulations! They are the cutes little pups. You're in good company with Tammy. We CS writers should do a 'road tour'. My story didn't make it into this book. But it was a funny one.

Congratulations, Lisa! The doggie picks are fabulous. We adopted a retired racing greyhound and I love him to bits. The unconditional love is second to none, isn't it?

I'm sorry I'm so late making it here, but thank you so much for the plug! I am truly honored both by that and to have already read your wonderful, heartwarming story that left a smile on my face for hours. And that dear, sweet little bee bee puppers (who is smaller than his toy!) is exactly as I pictured him from the description in your beautifully-written story!
