Francois, Nala, and One Sweet Deal!

Thank you to everyone who commented last week and to those who contacted me privately to offer personal ghost stories. The majority of you said you weren’t frightened by the events you experienced. Surprise was uppermost, and in at least one instance, a bit of anger that the spirit didn’t hang around longer than just a few seconds. I can honestly say I’ve never been the recipient of a visitation, and I’m not certain how I’d react if it happened, but if it ever does. you’ll hear about it here first. I’ll have more ghost-and-eeriness questions and posts in the weeks ahead. In the meantime, if you have more supernatural experiences to share, please comment here or contact me privately if you prefer.

As I said, no ghosts here, but we had a different type of visitation this week. This reptilian badass hung out behind our condo all week, napping in the sun. Was I afraid of him? Nope. We had the waterway separating us, and he wasn’t interested in me one iota. Still, I’m happy he was where he was and not sitting at my back door. I named him Francois. How can I be so certain he’s a he and not a she? Well, I can’t. But if you want to come over and look under his tail to confirm gender, be my guest. 🙂 If you can think of a better name than Francois, leave your suggestion in the comments!

I’m also the proud grandmother of . . . an adorable kitten. A gift to my daughter from her boyfriend, here is Nala. I’ve not met her yet, but I’m told she’s cuddly in the extreme. Look at this fur baby! Floofy sweetness, right there, folks.

Before I run off, I want to let you know that LOVE TO WIN, the third book in the Fireflies series, is now available on Audible. Narrator Pam Dougherty outdid herself yet again. Click HERE to listen to a sample. If you’d like to hear the whole book, please let me know. I’ve got promo codes so you may download this or any of the other Fireflies audiobooks for FREE! And if you aren’t an audiobook lover but know someone who is, send them on over. I’ll happily provide them with a promo code as well. Sweet deal, buttercup!

And for my friends in the snow-battered north, I’m sending good thoughts and many prayers for you and yours to stay safe and warm!

Thanks for dropping by. See you next week.

Edith Ann, 🙂 My only memory of a nor’easter was in ’77 or ’78. I remember being housebound for days, first by the storm, and then by the darn snowplow which dumped a huge drift in front of our driveway that took forever to dig out. But I also remember playing hours of gin rummy with my dad that week, and I wouldn’t trade that fun time for anything. 🙂

You better put a “No Loitering” sign in your backyard pronto. Yikes!

I’ll need to catch up and read your previous blog about ghosts, as I’m curious now. We have a “ghost” here at our house. My daughter has seen it, but I haven’t… this was before my mother-in-law passed away here and sometimes I think she is here to let us know she’s still around.

A relative of ours had an old New England farmhouse, and they always maintained they had a ghost. As many times as we visited, I never saw it, but I can’t deny there were some weird sounds upstairs, primarily the floorboards creaking as if someone was walking. I was afraid to go upstairs alone, but I did, and never saw anything. Let me know if you see your ghost!

Hey Lisa, good to read your wonderful writing again. Nala is oh so sweet! Francois would scare me more than the ghost stories, I’m afraid, but you’ve certainly made me curious. Love anything ghostly!

A year or so ago a very small alligator turned up in the small lake in our mobile home park. We wanted the park management to have him evicted but they said he was too small to do anything about. He scared all of the ducks away from the lake and we were concerned about small pets being a temptation for the unwelcome visitor. Fortunately, he disappeared after about 10 months and he hasn’t shown back up.

I’d love to listen to Love to Win. <3

Hmm…maybe he moved here when he found out you were trying to get rid of him! lol I have heard that the powers that be won’t remove an alligator until it reaches 11 feet or becomes aggressive. I have to reiterate that this is what I’ve heard, not what I know to be completely true. But more than one person has told me this over the course of the last year, so I think it quite likely to be true.

We haven’t seen Francois the last couple of days. Maybe he’s offended that I posted his photograph without first asking his permission. Ha.
