Enter to Win

Yes, today’s Naked Truth is all about the chance to win freebies. That’s as good a way as I know to celebrate my book baby gearing up to go off into the world. At least I know that any book YOU win will be in good hands, right?

A box was delivered to my house yesterday. The hubster spotted it sitting on the porch when we pulled into the driveway. He thought it might be something he ordered, but when we reached the front door we realized the package bore my name. My ARCs (advance reader copies) have arrived!

At long last, the book is actually…well…a book—albeit an unproofed, uncorrected version. It was strange and wonderful to hold it in my hands, and while my excitement was substantial, so became my terror. You see, it’s one thing to write a novel and find a publisher. It is quite another to send the book out into the Universe where, after so much love and care, it will have to fend for itself. Trouble is, there is no way to determine whether it will flap its wings and fly, or flutter to the ground with a thump. No telling, Buttercup, until the day Love Built to Last leaves the safety of the editorial nest and goes beyond the scope of my beady eagle eyes: June 20th, Release Day.

Now, about the freebies. Read on!

If you’re interested in reading Love Built to Last ahead of the crowd, leave a comment on this blog. I’ll be giving away three ARCs in the hopes of garnering early reviews on Amazon and Goodreads, and anywhere else books are sold. If you’re interested in reading and providing an honest review (please note, a review is requested and hoped for, but not required), please leave a comment. I’ll announce the ARC winners next Wednesday, May 20th, and the book will be in your hot little hands within the week.

Happy to wait for the June 20th release day? Enter the Goodreads contest—that nifty linky deal at the top of this post—for the chance to win one of ten signed copies of Love Built to Last, the final version (not the unproofed ARC). Or you can sign up for my newsletter HERE and you’ll have the chance to win one of five signed copies being given away. I’m making it easy-peasy. Both of these contests—the Goodreads 10-copy giveaway and the 5-copy giveaway here on my website—end on June 18th. Winners will be announced on release day, June 20th, and the books will be shipped soon thereafter.

Good luck with all of these chances to win a copy of Love Built to Last. Please share the giveaway news with your friends!

See you for Friday’s Observations From the Tub.

Have a wonderful Wednesday–
Lisa

Is it linked to FB? I don’t think you have to sign on with Facebook, but maybe I’m wrong. Goodreads is one of those I’m just always logged into.

I’m 99% sure that you don’t have to use FB to have a Goodreads account. I don’t think I have my accounts linked (at least I hope I don’t); I like to keep things separated. 🙂

Omigosh. Now I’m feeling the pressure! I hope it earns an A from you—after all this time your opinion still means the world to me. I truly hope you enjoy the book when the time comes that you read it. Thanks so much for your encouragement.

You guys are going to love this book! I’m very privileged to have met Lisa last fall and now even more privileged to be an early ARC reader for her. I’m 1/3 of the way through her book and it’s wonderful.

I read all kinds of romance (and pretty much only romance), from sweet to scorching. I think this one, so far, leans more towards the sweeter side but it is not without a nice amount of anticipation. I love it when a book makes me feel things deeply and her book is doing that in spades. I didn’t want to put it down except that I wanted to post this on her blog and then life will intrude and keep me away from reading for a few hours this evening. I can’t wait to finish reading it.

As far as I’m concerned the book is a hit and I hope wonderful things happen for Lisa as a result.

Note: I’m not a professional reviewer or even a blogger; I just love to read. When I find a new author whose work I enjoy I love to rave about it. I know Lisa’s not really a new author but she tells me this is her first novel. Way to go, Lisa!!

ButtonsMom — Thanks for leaving such a positive comment! I’m thrilled that you’re enjoying the book, more than you can possibly know. 🙂

Oh my, I have such a book hangover! I stayed up until 6:00 this morning reading Love Built to Last. Once all of the day’s interruptions were over, and I started to read the last 2/3’s of the book, I couldn’t put it down. I think it truly is a wonderful story and I’m not saying that because we’ve met and I consider you a friend.

Now I just have to figure out how to write a review that can do the book justice. Oftentimes when I really love a book it’s difficult for me to express exactly why, in words that will make sense to other people. I hope I am able to do justice to your “baby.”

While I’m sorry that you have a book hangover, if it had to happen, I’m thrilled that it was my book! I think I may have told you earlier you’re my first “all night reader.” 🙂 I’m excited to read your review, and so appreciate you taking the time to post one. Thank you! You’ve really made my whole week.

Please oh please pick me! I am beyond thrilled for you, Lisa, and can’t wait for your baby to go out there into the big world and show everyone what you can do. But you know if I don’t get picked I’ll be buying one as soon as I can. Best wishes for lots of success on this one and future stories!

Thanks Debra! As one of the Inklets, you suffered through many of my rough drafts of other stories. I learned a lot critiquing with you, and I’m sure a lot of the stuff we talked about in our group helped make this a better book!

Lisa–Please put my name in the hat. And I can’t wait, even if I don’t win an ARC and have to buy a copy when it’s for sale.

How exciting! Did you squeal when you were opening the box?
