Gotta Scratch Your Head
A woman in Canada is suing a wireless phone service for $600,000.00 claiming the company is responsible for the breakup of her marriage.
Here’s the scoop. The woman admits to being unfaithful to her hubby who, up until the wireless service boo-booed and sent the bill to her home, sat happy and clueless about the affair. After reviewing the bill he noted a repeat number and called it (clueless, maybe, but not dumb), thus exposing his wife’s cheating ways. Hubby packed his bags and exited the marriage.
The lawsuit claims that were it not for the errant bill the husband would have been ignorant of the affair and, therefore, remained in the marriage. Ergo, the marital mushroom cloud is the fault of the wireless company. Huh.
Eschewing personal responsibility is the norm for a lot of folks, but this is one for the Scratch Your Head marquee. Apparently, the woman takes no personal responsibility for having the affair in the first place. I’m curious to see what the Canadian courts do with this one, ay.
How about you? What is the worst case you’ve seen of Personal Responsibility Blasted to Smithereens? No political references, buttercup, ‘cuz that’s just too easy.
