In the Home Stretch!

Posted on Nov 19, 2010 by Lisa Ricard Claro   14 Comments | Posted in NaNoWriMo

The finish line is in sight!  I’ve written 42,350 words of the 50,000 word challenge!  With only 7,650 words left to go, you know how I’ll be spending my weekend. For now I’m basking in the glow of near completion. I’m also off to do laundry because, well, even hanging this close to the NaNo finish line, the dirty socks cannot be left to ferment. So I’m off to wash. But tomorrow, buttercup, I’ll be writing.

Have a great weekend!  See you soon for Microfiction Monday!

Good luck. Last time I wrote 50,000 words was 1982. My hands wouldn't be able to do it now.I remember how it feels to be in the home stretch, even though I didn't have a deadline.– KKay, Alberta, CanadaAn Unfittie's Guide to Adventurous Travel

Hi Kay – Thanks for stopping by! I'm a bit paranoid now, with less than 10,000 words to go, that something will happen (tornado, hurricane, a bout of the flu) to hold me up! I won't be happy until I hit the big 50,000.

I think you should let the socks continue to ferment. People make liquor from all sorts of obnoxious things—beets, for example—so perhaps socks would result in something really delectable. That way, when you cross the 50,000 word finish line, you could have a drink of "Sock-E" to celebrate.Congratulations on the phenomenal progress. You are almost there!

Way to go! The finish line is well within your reach! I'm close to 40,000 words—and have to stop to grade 4 online classes including essays; then clean house and get ready for hosting mother-in-law and family for Thanksgiving. But I am determined to reach 50,000 before Thanksgiving. You can do it, and so can I."What the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve." Napoleon Hill

Hi Carmen – Wow. I thought I was busy, but I'll stop whining now. You have a lot on your plate, but be stubborn! Don't give up, especially at 40,000. Nose to the grindstone time, laundry stops, family members start cooking dinner for themselves. LOL Sad, but true. My own fam is feeling a bit neglected. You will finish! You're too close not to!
