Lanfear and Aginor: Kitties Extraordinaire!

Posted on Oct 14, 2010 by Lisa Ricard Claro   13 Comments | Posted in aginor · bailey · cat · lanfear · meow

Greetings!  We are Aginor and Lanfear, and we reside in Florida with our human pet, who happens to be the son of the lady who writes this blog.  We asked for our moment in the spotlight, and our human grandma agreed.  She’s pretty cool for someone without a tail. . .or fur. . .or pointy ears. . .or fish breath. Hmmm….maybe we need to downgrade her from cool to pleasant. Yeah. That works.  She’s, um, pleasant.

Anyway, as you can see, we love each other very much.  We are brother and sister and were thrilled to be adopted together.  It is so much more fun to claw up furniture with a friend than alone!  We also enjoy playing kitty ninja, tearing up paper products, and sitting on our pet’s head.  He calls us “cat hat” when we do that.  We have names for him, too, but Grandma said we couldn’t put them on her blog.

We actually love our pet very much, and follow him everywhere when he is home.  He’s awfully cute for a, you know, human.  He loves us, too, and takes lots of pictures to send to Grandma because she gets so excited. Well, really, who wouldn’t?  I mean, look at us—we’re freaking adorable!

We love to lay in the sunshine that beams through the windows into our apartment. It would be nice to go outside and chase crickets and birds and lizards and stuff, but our pet won’t let us out.  The veterinarian said the average life expectancy for an indoor cat is 12+ years; for an outdoor cat it is much less, like 5-6 years.  Our pet wants to keep us around for a really long time, so he keeps us inside and gives us interesting things to do so we don’t get bored; and, of course, we have each other to wrestle and cuddle with, and our pet is quite a diversion when he is home.

Grandma’s cat, Bailey, became trapped outdoors last week.  Bailey will write a blog post about her adventure in the great outdoors very soon.  In the meantime, we just wanted to say “meow!” and let you share in our awesome wonderfulness!

Love from sunny Florida!

What a fun post. I love cats and when I see these guys I miss my old buddy, Rusty, whose story will appear in an upcoming Chicken Soup for Cats book. Cat hat! Funny.

Hi Linda – Congrats on the CS pub! I'll look forward to reading it. What I'd really love is a picture of the "cat hat", but I'll have to work on that one.

Beautiful cats. We're now just dog people, but our cats from the past still hold a special place in our hearts…

They are cute little creatures, aren't they? I've only seen these two in pictures since they live in Florida, but I hear all the cat stories. They are a real pair of characters.I've had cats in my house ever since I can recall. Except for a very brief period right after my husband and I married, there has always been a feline in my life. 🙂

The grand-cats are adorable, and, as seems to be the case with all felines, rule the roost!Patwww.critteralley.blogspot.com

Hi Pat – That's true! Kitties like to be in charge and have a knack for making it happen. 🙂

Lisa, I hopped over here from Sioux's blog because I saw the cat photo among recent blogs Sioux visited, and I'm a sucker for cats. The two here remind me of Mort — a character who allowed me to be his primary staff for 18 years. (Same tabby markings and spotted belly. Same coloring.) I've written stories about Mort because there was no avoiding it. He always had a story to tell. I hope to hear stories of these two, and in case that's in the offing… you've got a new follower!

Hi Katie – Welcome! Thanks for visiting and following. I'll do my best not to disappoint, and will make sure my son keeps sending pics of his crazy, adorable kitties.

What a couple of stinkers – they are soooo cute. Smeagol is jealous he doesn't have a playmate, but then, he's a brat and no one would want to be around him except his "pet".

Hi Kathy – Hope you have great weekend, too. I haven't had an actual face-to-face meet with my grandkitties as they a live state away, but when I do I'll spoil them! :)Hi Lynn – Some of the stories my son tells me about are a riot. They really are a pair of characters. I've read about Smeagol, and he sounds like quite a character in his own right. He's probably only a brat with you, because he knows you'll love him no matter what…with visitors I bet he's a charmer!

Lisa, what beautiful cats and an adorable post, as well! Aren't they talented little critters?!I just realized that I'm more behind in my blog reading than I thought! For some reason, my blog wasn't updating everyone's new posts and I just assumed everyone was too busy to write! Aaackkk! So, if you thought I was being rude and not stopping by…and anyone else who knows me and is reading this…I'm sorry and will try my best to catch up with y'all!!

Becky – I can't imagine you ever being rude, or anyone thinking you were. You're so sweet natured. I just figured you were busy working on your book! But I'm glad you stopped by, 'cause I missed you. They are cute little boogers, aren't they?
