Microfiction Monday: Ava Waits

Posted on Sep 27, 2010 by Lisa Ricard Claro   27 Comments | Posted in microfiction
Microfiction Monday, hosted by Susan at Stony River, has me hooked! The challenge is to write a story of 140 characters or less to match the picture provided.  Here’s this week’s picture and the microfiction I wrote to go with it:

Ava sat there mornings, still as stone, staring at the spot he went under. She wore his hat like a bribe; but he never rose up to claim it.
Check out the Stony River link to access other microfiction stories for this picture or, better yet, write one of your own!
Have a great Monday –

Bribe implies she wants him to surface again…a deeper romance lies hidden within this one! Well done!

Poor Ava, someday they will be together again and she can give him his hat. Poignant but sad. Thanks for stopping by my place today and leaving your comment.

I want to hear more of this story-it's got horror written all over it. :-)And on a completely different note, glad you're enjoying FB so much. I have fun over there, too. Plus, I read the posts and say, "Oh! Got to go check out Lisa in the Buff today!" 🙂

Oh, sad, and such a unique take on the photo. Maybe she'll have to just toss the hat to him.
