Microfiction Monday: Pants at a Picnic

Posted on Oct 25, 2010 by Lisa Ricard Claro   24 Comments | Posted in microfiction
Microfiction Monday, and another tale told in 140 characters or less.  As always, thanks to Susan at Stony River for hosting:

“What?” Cried Leo. “A raid? How shall we toast the wearing of fashionable swimwear now? Damn prohibition! And damn that Elliot Ness!”
(Thanks to my hubby for suggesting prohibition as a topic.)

*******************

Ben gasped and stared. Did Bart not understand the ramifications of drinking Pepsi at a Coca-Cola reunion? That crazy Bart; always a rebel.

A you can see, I had a tough time taking this pic seriously. Every time I looked at it I saw something giggle worthy.  I’m looking forward to reading other takes on this!
Hope y’all have a great Monday –
Lisa

Hi Lisa,That is a funny picture! What I noticed was that they are all really munching down on the chicken and don't look too enthused about having their picture taken. I like both of your stories.

P.S. – I really like your page bar on top. It looks very professional. How did you do that?

They both made me smile. The picture made me laugh so hard I had a difficult time trying to decide which way to go. So I went silly, of course. Well done!

This is great! It was pretty giggle worthy to me too especially that one lady's expression as she looks at the back of the guy's head. I took a serious slant though. πŸ™‚

Guess I am a bit weird…I saw this as a very serious take-off for a novel. A group of people who come together for something fun, but really, can they ever have fun? Except for Buddy, who likes a picnic just for the fried chicken!

I like your first one best. Elliott Ness, prohibition, even if it was your husband's idea. LOLKay, Alberta

I think it's cool that you get TWO stories out of so many of them! I'd have enough trouble coming up with one!

Here's my contribution:Shirts vs. skins was, in hindsight, not the best decision since the skins were sorely outnumbered and horribly out of shape. Thankfully, Barb spiked the sodas and the day’s embarrassments were soon forgotten.(see – not only am I reading blogs…I'm participating. I'm a new woman)
