I need a shoulder on which to weep;
my heart holds sadness untold.
Alack the day! Alas, I say!
MFM is now on hold!
Yes, it is true. Microfiction Monday (MFM) appears to be suspended for the time being. I hope this wonderful meme begins again soon. If another blogger out there is taking over on Susan’s behalf, please share the news.  I’ll participate, and promise to stop using words like “alack” and “alas.” Cross my heart.
In the meantime, I encourage everyone to give Book Blurb Friday a try.  Scroll down to read last week’s entries—they are wonderful and so creative.  It is fun and easy to participate.  The best part is that you create story starters for yourself.  I’ve started printing and storing in a binder the blurbs I write.  The next time the dreaded Writer’s Block comes to visit I’ll pull out my binder of blurbs, choose one, and get to work. Ready made ideas, buttercup. It’s a win-win.  Accept the challenge! Write a blurb and add your link to last Friday’s offering. Give it a try. You’ll be hooked!
Welcome to my new followers! Thank you for visiting and deciding to stick around. I will visit your sites, and look forward to learning about you.
My fingers are crossed for MFM to be viable again soon. Without it I expect to suffer withdrawals of some kind, and it might not be pretty. Pity my housemates.
Til next time –

    I wish I had more time to try the microfiction. After April's A to Z, I may look into the Book Blurb. It sounds like fun!Have a great week 🙂

    Hi Susan – MFM is kind of addicting, isn't it? I hate to see it end, and I'm sure it was a tough decision for Susan to make. I hope someone else picks it up.Hi Words Crafter – I'm doing that A-Z Challenge as well. I've started putting posts together already. I fear if I'm not ahead of the game I won't complete the challenge successfully. This is my first time with it. 🙂

    I'm missing it too! Maybe it's just her computer problems but she did mention it was beginning to be a burden. I would take it over but I do not have the awesome photographs she has on hand.

    If anyone is still hankering to wrote fiction, I've been hosting a Photo Prompt each Monday and you're all invited to participate.(I hate how self-promotional this sounds, but I heard a cry of despair and couldn't help myself)My meme doesn't have any real rules, but people could still stick to the usual rules of MFM if that helps – anything to encourage your continued creativity and help people get by until MFM returns, which I'm sure it will.

    I used to do Susan's MM, but Monday is my main day off for writing and it would end up being consumed with reading everyone's entries. Still miss it, though.

    It is a shame about Microfiction Monday – maybe someone will take it on.

    Hi Michael – A lot of us MFMers are going through withdrawal. LOLHi Polly – I actually thought about it, too. I just launched Book Blurb Friday, though, and don't know that I want to be responsible for two memes. Maybe, though. . .Hey Eric – Nothing wrong with self-promotion! Thanks for the "heads up" about your Monday prompt. That sounds like a fine alternative.Hi Ellie – There are a lot of worthwhile writing challenges out there. It is impossible to get around to all of them. You seem to organize your time really well.Hi Jabblog – Yes'm. . .I agree! Hi Tammy – Thanks!Hey Karen – MFM was a fun and challenging meme. I missed it this week—which is how I foisted that awful excuse for a poem on you!

    Hey Lisa! I hadn't realized until just now about the MFM, but I can certainly understand Susan's decision, too. Your Book Blurb Friday is the only meme I'm participating in now! 🙂

    I will surely miss MFM 'cause I really looked forward to getting my brain in gear! I hope that someone else picks it up and runs with it. Also, I'm going to try your book blurb this Friday…have some words on paper so far. I'll see where it goes!~Jean
