Microfiction: Vehiculovers Janie and Jay

Posted on Sep 12, 2011 by Lisa Ricard Claro   19 Comments | Posted in Grandma's Goulash · microfiction · Succinctly Yours

Grandma’s Goulash graciously hosts Succinctly Yours, the wonderful meme for those of us addicted to microfiction. The trick is to write a story in 140 characters or less using the photo below as inspiration. To add to the challenge is the word of the week, “methodical.”  My stories are below.

Vehiculover Janie
(138 characters)

Janie was always a methodical perfectionist who loved cars. Her eventual OCD diagnosis and success as a used auto dealer surprised no one.

Vehiculover Jay
(109 characters)

Few people know that Jay Leno’s hobby of collecting cars began long before he achieved success as a comedian.

Enjoy your day — see you Wednesday!

Where fiction meets fact…interesting, with the usual funny angle you give to your writings.

OCD seems to be one of the main themes of the day;-)

Such a clever you! I especially like the Jay Leno reference! (It would be so much fun to enlighten him about Grandma's Goulash's Succinctly Yours, and send this one in to him. Jay and his audience would get a BIG kick out of it, to be sure!)

Ha! It would have been me lining them up as the daycare provider … when you have so much stuff, you have to keep it organized. These are both great, Lisa. Jay Leno and Janie rock.Have a wonderful week, my friend!Kathy M.

Indeed, these traits do show up early in some people. Maybe Janie could help solve crimes as does Monk. I like your clever Leno reference!

Ah…Jay Leno! Very smart of you! As for Janie, we work with what we've got, don't we?:)

I knew as soon as I saw the picture that I'd love it. It's so cute. Very creative mm, Lisa! You should have the art of writing a synopsis down cold!

Wow Microfiction Queen, you nail it every time. When you're rich and famous, will you still act like you know me?

Haha! Lynn – my internet has been out since Tuesday, so I just saw this. I hope you have a crystal ball…I don't need to be famous, but rich would be highly acceptable. I promise to always act like I know you, no matter what financial state I find myself in. 🙂 But then you must promise to always act like you know me, even when I qualify as "riff raff." LOL
