Welcome — to my new followers! Thank you to *Carmen, Brian, Nessa and Dominic for signing on with me.  Please check out their links…there’s some terrific stuff on their pages.

Following a blog and commenting takes time, and I appreciate you using yours to visit Writing in the Buff. Thank you, to each of my followers–and other visitors, too. I’m grateful for your insights and attention!

Woo-hoo! I’m halfway through the NaNoWriMo challenge. I celebrated the milestone with a glass (oh, fine. . .two) of Lambrusco and a bag of Peanut M&Ms.  It takes so little to make me happy!

I’m at 25,000 words with 25,000 more to go before the 30th, and somewhere in there a Thanksgiving dinner must be prepared.  I tried to convince my family that we could be just as thankful with PBJ sandwiches and a gallon of ice cream, but that didn’t fly. Can’t blame an overworked writer for trying, though.

Speaking of turkey day, there is still time to enter my Thanksgiving giveaway contest.  Scroll down a few posts for a refresher on the rules to enter. (Please remember that in addition to being a follower, you must leave a comment telling me the nuttiest thing you are grateful for, not including family and friends.)  You have until 5:00 p.m. EST on Monday, November 15th to enter.  After that, the names go in a hat and my hubby will close his eyes and pull one out (a name, not an eye—though that would be kinda cool in an ooky sort of way) and the winner will be announced here on Tuesday, November 16th. Good luck!

One of my blogging pals is also running a contest. Click on over to Becky Povich’s blog and enter her contest, too. Lots of great stuff to win!

Enjoy your day!

Lisa—I admire that you have made that much progress. I surrendered, but AM writing–as if I'm still part of NaNo–and sent something into a contest earlier this week, and will send out another piece this weekend.Keep up the momentum!

Hi Sally – Thanks! I'm actually having fun with it and learning a lot about how I write, so it has turned out to be a worthwhile process.Hey Sioux – Congrats on your submissions! That is one drawback to NaNo–I haven't written anything for submission at all, just no time. Good luck with your submits!

Woot Woot as I understand they say in NaNo world. So glad you made the half way mark! I have Thanksgiving dinner to prepare too, so I'm trying to get as far ahead as I can as you never know what's around the corner. No doubt you'll make it! Yeah!

Hey Lynn – I'm sticking close to you on my NaNo count, but always a step behind. I'm sure you'll hit the finish line before me, but I'll be right behind you, woot-wooting the whole way! Well, except for the time it will take to bake a couple of pies and roast a turkey. πŸ™‚

Hi Ellie – Sounds like you have your progress mapped out. I'm trying to get ahead because the 2-3 days before our Thanksgiving holiday will be really busy…lots of time in the kitchen! Keep writing!

I seriously considered entering NaNoWriMo – even got as far as trying to register, but something went wrong with the registration, and I think it might have been for the best. At least for this year! Well done on reaching the half way point – it must be immensely satisfying, and not so scary with less than half still to do!

Hi Dom – Well, I reached the halfway mark and then took an unintentional day off. I'll be hitting the keyboard again today and hope to keep up the momentum.
