Observations from the Tub: Doing the Right Thing, With $500 Interest!

Posted on Apr 17, 2015 by Lisa Ricard Claro   10 Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

Today’s Observations from the Tub: Wouldn’t it be great if so many people did the right thing that doing the right thing was too common an occurrence to make the news?

But since that isn’t the case, kudos to this guy who made things right:

A Croatian man lost his wallet 14 years ago. It was recently returned to him and contained his original $1000 in cash, plus $500 interest. (You may read the original story HERE at YahooNews.) It took him a while, but at least he did it.

Have a safe and pleasant weekend, ya’ll! See you Monday for Pawsitive Pondering.

Lisa, I love stories like this! I found a wallet once and wrote a letter to the name and address on the drivers license inside. After the owner picked it up from me he later sent me a letter with several tickets to our local science museum and the IMAX theater inside of it. These tickets were pretty expensive and an awesome reward just for doing the right thing.

I’m not sure why but your link didn’t work for me. Here’s the link where I found the story: https://nz.news.yahoo.com/top-stories/a/27100241/croatian-man-finds-lost-wallet-with-interest-after-14-years/. Also, I did get an email notification today and only one. 🙂

Thanks for the head’s up. I must have done something hinky with the link. I thought I checked it, but I guess not. Oops. You saved the day, though, and I appreciate it. 🙂 I like your story. It really is nice when people show appreciation for something like what you did, even though you didn’t expect anything from them. And really, the fact that you didn’t expect any kind of reward makes the receipt of it all that much nicer.

That’s because I’ve been writing all morning and it’s time for lunch, so I’m on a break! lol This woman needs food. I wish I had some Cheetos in the pantry. haha

I seen that on the news. Something similar happened when I was a kid, but I don’t remember the details. I remember that a guy robbed a store and told the teller he wanted $20.00. The clerk, being scared, handed him much more. The next day they found an envelope taped to the door with the extra money and a note that read: “I only needed $20.00.”

Oh, my. That’s something. What could have been so important for $20 do you suppose, to commit a robbery? Reminds me of the Mel Gibson movie, Payback, where he’s trying to get back a specific amount of money, no more and no less. In the case of the $20, I guess it was nice that the guy returned the overage.

There is so much bad news constantly bombarding us, any shred of something good is refreshing indeed.
