Pawsitive Pondering: I is for Individuality AND Microfiction Monday!

Posted on Apr 11, 2011 by Lisa Ricard Claro   24 Comments | Posted in A-Z Challenge · Luna · microfiction · Pawsitive Pondering

On behalf of the A to Z Challenge, Pawsitive Pondering offers up a puppy’s and kitten’s take on just being yourself.

I is for Individuality
If climbing into a shoe makes you purr. . .
a good wind-whooshing makes you holler, “Woof!”

then we say,
Go for it!
Celebrate your uniqueness!

Luna is our “storm drain kitty,” rescued last October by my youngest daughter. She looks sweet and innocent in the photo, but don’t let her fool you. She’s really a domestic terrorist. Her specialty is glass breakage and annoying the other household inhabitants, human and furry alike.  She is lovable as all get-out, though, and we celebrate her individuality with kitty treats and lots of love.

Special Agent McGee is a miniature Dachshund who loves the wind in his hair. . .er, ears. A daredevil, he fears no circumstance (as long as his human mom is holding onto him and keeping him safe, as she was in this photo).

Scroll down for this week’s microfiction!
Microfiction, compliments of Succinctly Yours at Grandma’s Goulash, is presented below. Each tale is 140 characters or less. Here is my take on this week’s photo, with use of “procrastinate,” the word of the week:

Ben procrastinated boarding.
Sick of sales meetings, airports and boring flights,
he sighed,
“Mother was right. I should’ve been a doctor.”
* * * * * * * * * *
Molly bounced with excitement.
She noticed that Mama laughed,
and didn’t even say to “settle down.”
All because Daddy would be here soon!
See you tomorrow for more Pawsitive Pondering and the letter J!

What a coincidence, PROCRASTINATION is my word of the week(and most weeks) too! Nice work on blogging, showing big love to your furry kids, A-Z challenge,Microfiction and Word-Of-The-Week all in one post! Whew! Now you can relax for the rest of the week. 🙂

We have friends who have a cat named Highway. (Some had dumped/thrown the kitten on the median. She had some broken teeth, but otherwise, was fine. Unfortunately, so was the person who dumped her.) She loves to bat-bat-bat at breakable things on a counter or table—kind of like a hockey player approaching a goal—until the object get to the edge and drops.Luna is a cutie. Luckily you have S.A.M. to blaze the trail as a risk-taker.Great microfiction tales. The second one is so spot-on. Parents often abandon their usual boundaries when it comes to a loved one's homecoming…

Loved your microfiction tales. I so envy those of you who can tell a story in a few words. I suffer from incurable verbosity. Luna is showing her gratitude for rescue by making sure every one gets exercise and does their part stimulating the economy.

I just love your Pawsitive Ponderings, I think there may just be a direct correlation between cuteness and naughtiness. Both of your Succinct responses hit the nail on the head, traveling for work isn't necessarily fun for anyone. ~ Calico Contemplations

Lots of good thoughts here. Perhaps we should tell Ben it might be just as good or bad anywhere? He could deplane and retrain for the thrill of the thing though.

I feel Ben's pain. When I had to fly regularly for three years, it wore thin very quickly. The homecomings are always great, it's the leaving that is tough.I feel Ben's pain.

Great micros! I'm glad to see you're still keeping it going. For some reason, the demise of Susan's site took the wind out of my sails and I can't seem to muster any creative micro juices. Here;s hoping that time heals all!
