Hello y’all – Sorry for the late hour. I usually post first thing in the morning, but the day didn’t go quite as planned. Murphy’s Law and all that.
That cute little fur monster is Ruby, my daughter’s new puppy. Ruby was quarantined for seven days with a contagious canine cold, but she was set free yesterday and integrated into our household with little fuss. Our older dogs, Rigby and Penny, accepted her into the fold with no more than a few curious sniffs, and although the cats were less impressed, there isn’t much to report about that either. Luna is above caring, and Tabitha has expressed her displeasure with a puffed out tail and indignant hisses which Ruby ignores with gleeful puppy abandon.
We have learned in the last 24 hours that Ruby has a particular liking for leather sneakers and anything that squeaks. She also follows the rule of “monkey see, monkey do, monkey get in trouble too,” and is taking her cues from Rigby and Penny. Fortunately, Rigby and Penny are well-behaved and have taught Ruby to sit while waiting for a treat, but I’m curious to see what happens when Ruby is partnered with Ralph, Christina’s boyfriend’s pup. I have a feeling the two of them will find some serious trouble to get into.
This week’s installment of Observations From the Tub will be deferred, as will next Monday’s Pawsitive Pondering. My son and daughter-in-law are coming to visit, and I’ve got writing deadlines to meet in order to spend time with them, so blogging takes a backseat, Buttercup! I’ll be back next Wednesday to tell you more of the Naked Truth. See you then! 🙂
