That’s What Love Sounds Like
Love is a good way to begin any week, so today’s Pawsitive Pondering sends some your way. Smiles for your Monday, Buttercup!
Last Friday I pulled into my driveway and almost ran over a miniature Dachshund. He was spry for an old guy—his gray muzzle gave him away—and I was relieved to see he wore a collar. Unfortunately, no tag bearing contact info for the owner was attached to it. My husband remembered seeing a new neighbor walking a doxie, so on our way to the vet to see if the old fella was chipped, we stopped at the neighbor’s house. The little dog got loose while the woman’s toddler was napping, and she didn’t want to wake the child to go after the dog.
If my hubby hadn’t remembered seeing the dog being walked, we wouldn’t have had a clue where he belonged. And if he wasn’t chipped, it might have taken days—not to mention our time and resources—to locate the owner. For $20.00 or less you can have a collar tag made bearing the dog’s name, or your own, and a contact phone number. Had the pooch been wearing a name tag, he would have been returned home immediately with no more trouble than dialing the phone.
Please, folks. If you love your dog, take the time to get him a name tag with your phone number on it. No one expects their dog to run off or get lost, but if it happens, at least you’ll know that whoever finds him has the immediate ability to contact you and return your fur baby. It just makes good sense. Love your dog? Please get him a name/contact tag for his collar.
Thanks for stopping by. See you Wednesday for the Naked Truth!
