What’s in Your Bag? Curious Cat Wants to Know…

Posted on Apr 19, 2010 by Lisa Ricard Claro   11 Comments | Posted in cat · meow · scratch · tabby

Greetings! It is I, Tabby, gifting you with my blog presence.  Please, don’t thank me.

I’ve slept my desired 18 hours and am ready to fluff my fur and get to work.  I’ll take a moment to ask my question on behalf of SCRATCH (Smart Cats Rebel Against Totally Crazy Humans), after which I shall meander to the kitchen for a snack and then make my way to the basement to visit the little kitties’ box.  At the conclusion of my box visit–*yawn*–I will locate a suitable lap into which I shall nestle for a power nap.  So you see, I have the next half hour well-mapped and it is, therefore, no trouble to bless you with my musings.

Please spare a moment from your human life to offer your opinion and insight on the following:

I have snooped…er, investigated…my pet’s bag (she calls it a purse) and discovered a wallet and keys. Ho-hum. She also carries a measuring tape, among other oddities.  What is the oddest item in your bag, and why do you carry it with you?

As always, thank you for assisting  in my quest for world domination. I’m off to complete my agenda, but perhaps after my lap nap I’ll call a meeting of SCRATCH to discuss my rise to power.  Or maybe I’ll go back to sleep.

Meow,
Tabby

MeOw Tabby, I find that my owner carries this thing that when it is opened, it becomes something she waves at herself. It's referred to as a fan. Something about hot flashes. Now I need to get back to my nap. So glad I'm not like them. What are they worried about, we have fur! Humans, go figure.Smeagol

Smeagol! So good to hear from you. A fan, eh? Perhaps your pet is developing a new weapon to harness the power of that thing you called "hot flashes". Humans are odd ones, aren't they? Aren't you glad you were born a feline?Meow – Tabbt

Hmmm, oddest thing in my purse….that's kind of a tough one. Some may consider a lot of my stuff "odd"! I'll just go with the teeny-tiny-eye-glass-repair-kit!

Ms. Becky – Fascinating! You have a repair kit for the spectacles of small animals! Does this mean you carry mice in your purse? Do other humans also transport mice, and what do they do inside the purse? Sleep, read, plot? Hmmm…This circumstance is one I have not previously considered. You give me much to ponder. . .Meow-Tabby

Tabby, I never leave home without 2 cameras (not counting the one on my cell phone) and my Xanex. You just never know when you might need one or the other!

Quite the overachiever, eh? Trying to make all the other humans look like slackers. I like it! I once knew a Calico who got into his pet's Xanex…poor Chester! He started purring and couldn't stop. His motor ran for three days before he finally fell asleep in his catnip!Meow -Tabby

Oh, Tabby…you poor misguided feline. Have you been coughing up too many hair balls lately? I don't carry eye glass repair kits for small varmits, nor do I carry mice! I don't know about other humans transporting mice, but I doubt if they would read, sleep or plot! I think they would chew everything inside the bag and then leave some "special droppings"! You are one Crazy Cat!

^^Crazy Cat^^ Why, that is my pet's nickname for me! How did you guess? Usually when she says it, though, I get a treat. There are, indeed, mice who sleep, read and plot…Mickey, Minnie, Jerry, Fievel, Mighty. I've learned to never underestimate a rodent who wears fashionable clothing–Jerry excepted as he prefers to be "in the buff" and as such is our favored mouse. Those mice are tricky. Meow.Tabby

Not so much an overachiever as I am afraid of running out batteries at the wrong time … just that bit of Girl Scout in me. Glad that Chester survived his ordeal with no ill effects!

Chester, I am happy to say, is perfectly fine. He's a lot more laid back than he used to be…
