What’s in Your Potty?

Posted on Jun 19, 2015 by Lisa Ricard Claro   11 Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

Today’s Observations from the Tub: Imagine using the plunger to clear a clog, only to suck out a snake instead. And not just any snake . . . a 5-1/2 foot long boa constrictor!

I don’t know about y’all, but I’d need some serious therapy after something like this. I might never sit down again.

When my father-in-law was in the USAF they were stationed in Guam. My mother-in-law wrote a poem for an unexpected house guest titled, “Ode to a Toad in the Commode.” Kind of cute, right? When the hubster and I lived in Key West there were toads that showed up in the bathtub, little guys, about the size of a sugar cube. Adorable . . . kinda gross, but . . . adorable. But a SNAKE? A boa constrictor? GAK!

What weird stuff has turned up in your potty?

Please hop over to the blog of author Tierney James today who is hosting a “speed dating for readers” where she spotlights several authors, including yours truly. And please visit the Jaunty Quills tomorrow where I’m a guest blogger for my book release day! So excited!

Thanks for swinging by for today’s Observations from the Tub. See you Monday for Pawsitive Pondering!

I don’t know what it was, but it had no rest-rings, and I didn’t know I had it in me.

Lisa–I had a boa as a classroom pet, but to find one in my toilet, that WOULD be terrifying. (However, I wouldn’t be worried about the boa possibly wrapping around my rear end and constricting. NO boa is big enough to be able to do that. 😉

Haha–let’s hope you never have to find out!

I’ve heard some strange stories about snakes getting into weird places and I always wonder how in the world could that happen?!! I think I’d be a bit nervous about sitting down again if I ever saw one in my potty!

I hope your release day went well; I want your book to do fantastic!

I agree, Claudia. Ugh! Just imagining this makes my skin crawl.

I too feel a little bit traumatized just reading this. When we lived in Savannah, my daughter once announced – via very loud scream – that there was a frog in the shower with her. Conrats again on your release!

Haha—that one I can really empathize with, because we used to get those weird little toads in Key West. I’d really rather shower alone. 🙂

I would be mortified to find a snake of any kind in my potty! I can just hear what my little three-year-old grandbaby Sawyer, who is terrified of spiders, would say about a boa. I can see him jumping up and down, “Nana, Nana, Nana, look, look, look!” — as if I wouldn’t be just as terrified 🙂

Congratulations again on your release, Lisa. I’m so happy for you!
