Winners, Book Signings, & Free Pics for Your Website!

Posted on Feb 1, 2017 by Lisa Ricard Claro   12 Comments | Posted in The Naked Truth

Today’s Naked Truth is newsy stuff. First, I’d like to extend a big thank you to everyone who participated in the contest I hosted over at the Facebook group, In Like Sin. If you joined the group, then you already know that there will be shenanigans aplenty. If you haven’t joined, you’re missing out! The contest is over, but the fun continues with my friends, authors Casey HagenVikki RomanoElaine Marie, and S.L Stacker.

Five winners from In Like Sin are walking away with all three signed Fireflies books and a mug featuring Spooky, my cat-on-the-books muse. As always, winners were chosen at random via Random.org.

Congratulations to the following winners!

Magdalena Szabelska

Pat Hensley

Donna Young

Diane Silvia

Misty Sulouf

Ladies, please contact me with your mailing address (use the contact form under “Meet Lisa” in the menu to maintain your privacy) and allow 2-4 weeks for delivery of your prizes. Congratulations again!

The second newsy bit is that I have a couple of book signings scheduled for this month. If you’re nearby either of these places, I hope you’ll drop by and say hello!

Thursday, February 9th, 6:30 p.m.

Book Exchange
2932 Canton Road
Marietta, GA 30066
770-427-4848

Book Exchange in Marietta, Georgia is hosting an Evening of Romance with authors Donna Gentry Morton, Richard Lutman, and me. We’ll be talking with readers, signing, and chatting about our books. Big thanks to Jennifer Gillman for inviting me to be part of this event.

Thursday, February 23, 5:30 p.m.

Book Mart and Café
120 E. Main Street
Starkville, MS 39759
662-323-2844

This book signing is part of the annual Starkville unWine Downtown event, and offers wine tasting and after-hours shopping in Starkville’s downtown. This will be my first trip to Mississippi, so if you live in the area, please come out and say hello. You get the extra bonus of meeting Terry Lynn Thomas whom you met here at Writing in the Buff last week. She and I will be hanging out together doing a lot of book talking and signing. Please put it on your calendar and come sip wine with us!

Since you were kind enough to read this far, I’d like to share some links with you.

If you have a blog or website and, like me, are always looking for free photos to use without worry of copyright infringement, you’re going to want to take a look at these sites. Both have more quality offerings than Flickr’s “creative commons” and you don’t have to worry about copyright infringement. Check these out:

Pixabay.com

Pixabay’s home page states: “All images and videos on Pixabay are released free of copyrights under Creative Commons CC0. You may download, modify, distribute, and use them royalty free for anything you like, even in commercial applications.”

Pexels.com

Pexel’s statement: “It’s hard to understand complex licenses that is why all photos on Pexels are licensed under the Creative Commons Zero (CC0) license. This means the pictures are completely free to be used for any legal purpose.”

Let me know how you like those sites!

That’s it for today, gang. Thanks so much for hanging out with me. Leave a comment below to say hello!

Have a great week, and I’ll see you next Wednesday.

Romance is good for your heart! To purchase your copy of Love Built to Last, Love to Believe, or Love to Win in eBook or print, go to Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Black Opal Books, or Kobo. Or just click the book cover on the sidebar. That works too. And autographed copies are available for purchase on my home page. 🙂

Wish I could come to even one of your signings. I’m heading to my sister’s in mid February and my plate is pretty full right now. I hope lots of people come out to meet you.

Congrats to the winners. If they haven’t read your books yet they will love them!

The signings aren’t in your neck of the woods, either, so I forgive you for not attending. 😉 If I do another signing at LeLu on Siesta Key I’ll let you know!

Lisa–I know about pexels.com but not about pixabay.com so thanks. Since I don’t have a daughter who takes professional-looking photos, I need sites like those.

    And congratulations to the winners!

Thanks, Pat. You’ll find both of these sites to be a real boon for images, but Pixabay is my hands-down favorite.

Lisa, you are a gem. Have fun at your book signings. I always attract people to my display table with Hershey’s Kisses.

Hershey’s Kisses it is, then! How you stay out of them yourself, though? lol
